2013 Workday
Saturday April, 27th @ 8:00am
It’s that time again to dig out your work clothes,
dust off your hammer, and help
out a senior in need
in the
Fenton ~ Holly ~ Linden
Tyrone, Rose and Argentine Townships.
Don’t have a hammer? That’s okay,
there are so many ways you
can help to make
a difference.
First, spread the word about
Christmas
In Action and our mission!
We need not only volunteers for workday
but also senior
homeowners in need of our services. CIA repaired 9 homes on
workday
last year and would like the opportunity to help
out 7 homeowners
this April 2010.
If you know of a senior citizen that is low income or handicapped,
60 years of age or older, and the home they own is in less than
perfect condition,
please give them our phone number or pass their name and
phone number to us at 714-3986.
Secondly,
we are hosting several fund raisers and accept monetary donations
year around that are all used for materials for workday
as our service is
completely FREE to the homeowners.
Please attend the fund raisers when you can or
if your company,
civic group,
or church would
like us to present the CIA mission in order
to make a
donation your board members would
be happy to do so.
Lastly, is of course workday!
What We Need:
• Volunteers ~ both skilled
and unskilled
You could help clean, paint, remodel bathrooms, install
hand rails and smoke detectors,
complete yard work, help serve the 3 meals provided to
all
the volunteers, etc.
Donations:
• Food and drinks
• Dumpsters
• Port-a-johns
• Licensed contractors
•
Materials such as paint supplies.
Students 12 and over can even receive community service credit
upon request.
If you want to help in another way,
please leave a message
at 810-714-3986
and a full time volunteer will return your
call.
Neighbors helping neighbors,
a philosophy to live and grow
by.
